This is a topic that most people believe to be an overseas problem. Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) is a domestic issues that is taking place in the United States, one of the biggest hubs being Atlanta, Georgia.
What is CSEC? It’s any type of sexual activity involving a child in exchange for something of value, or promise thereof, to the child or another person or persons. Examples include but are not limited to money, a place to stay, food, clothing, a cell phone etc.
As a speaker it is important to me to engage the audience on the topic so that they walk away with more information and are able to share the message with other people. Its great that I know the topic but it means nothing if only I know it. Teaching and education others is one of my passions as a therapist in helping in their journey to healing/ recovery.
I work as a contractor for an agency in the metro Atlanta area as an assessment coordinator and trainer. On Saturday 06.16.18 I had the honor of presenting on this topic at the Lifespring Community Church in Moultrie, Georgia. Thank you Pastor Julian Griner for your hospitality and a special thank you to Mr. Joe and Mrs. Donna Amore of Love Endures Ministries for coordinating the event to educate the community on the realities of sexual exploitation of children.
