It feels like it has been soooooooo long! I hope you are well and thriving at life 🙂
Since our last correspondence I have since celebrated a birthday and took myself to Cancun, Mexico for my 32nd chapter of life.
Birthdays are like a celebration of a new year for me and with that comes A LOT of thinking about everything under the sun (literally!).
I am in Cancun enjoying the sun and my mind is processing so much, I thought what better way to process than to share with you.
Here are a few things that have been on my mind, reply back if you can relate to any of it.
Below are some topics that were on my mind:
Babies: Funny but not really. I love children! A part of me wants to be a mother while another part is unsure if it will happen for me. More women are having children later in life so that’s a glimmer of sunshine! With that being said I also think about the risks involved with pregnancy as I age. *Bookmark this topic for a later post*.
Side note: I did an interview (#MeetTheAuthors) for my upcoming anthology ‘Unchain me Mama: The Forgiveness Factor’ (Coming late 2019). My chapter is titled ‘Naturally Ever After: Forgiving Through Healthy Living’. I share my story of being diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). Click here to view the interview.
Career: I’ve been a social worker for TEN (10) YEARS now! That is a long time and I am ready to retire lol. I have been re-searching doctoral programs while also keeping in mind that this will be an out of pocket investment for me. #TeamNoStudentLoans
Hair: November 2019 will make twelve (12) years since my last relaxer. I am glad that I proved to myself that I can grow thick healthy hair. However the way this Atlanta heat is set up, a low cut is looking very possible right now, plus I would save a ton of money on hair products; specifically conditioner. I have also considering growing my hair to waist length and then cutting it completely off by the time I turn forty (40) years old. We’ll see what happens.
Living: I have been in Atlanta, Georgia since September 2015 and it has been a character building journey. I love it here! After overcoming my fear of living alone in August 2016; I have been thinking about moving? Where? I have no idea as of yet but another country is definitely an option.
Finances: I am thankful to be able to comfortably pay my expenses and make time for fun. What could I do more of now so that I have a bigger safety net for a rainy day? (Cooking my meals and not eating out is definitely a start ha-ha).
Love: My forever partner is out there in the world, we just haven’t crossed paths yet. Although marriage has never been a goal for me, the idea of lifelong partnership is. I have been happily single since August 2016 and have been opening up to potentially dating exclusively if and ONLY a compatible match presents themselves to me.
Until next time,
-Nydia 🙂
