November also known as ‘Movember’ is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches/ beards during the month to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s suicide. Many suicide attempts by men typically go unreported or untreated due as a result of behavioral health services not being readily accessible (https://afsp.org/about-suicide/suicide-statistics/). In society men are not encouraged to be vulnerable and openly speak or seek support for behavioral health services. How we feel about ourselves shows in how we treat ourselves and how we present to others in the world. I wondered how much men care about their appearance and the lengths that they would go achieve a desired look. There is a growing industry for lace frontals for men and I will say this, if I didn’t see a before/after picture I would have believed that it was his real hair.
